What is Sweet Polly Oliver?

It is a story revolving around Pukefart Oliver,  a spoiled blue-blooded brat kidnapped by his enemy, Jack Dawkins, for entry into the Freedom Fighters, enemy of the Monarchy. Spared from being killed even after his father refuses to pay the ransom fee, Oliver must learn to survive in the Fighters in order to someday be reunited with his little sister.

1. Who is Oliver?

That's his surname and yes, he is called Pukefart.

Why, Pukefart? Not because his parents hated him. His father and deceaded mother do not and did not feel anything for him, really buuuut this was based off a historical fact. According to London-based genealogy firm Fraser & Fraser [1] ,bizarre names were at one point, during the certain eras, and if history shows, predominately during the victorian era , a trend . As a parent you like to give your child a name which you feel is unique and individual.  They just wanted a flashy , strange name.

And also , he is THIS guy.

                                   Oh yeah. Handsome fella, ain't he?.That hair tho. Damn. I want it. ;__;

                                         Oliver looking like he is constipated. A typical look of good Blue-Blood.

 Not the other significantly cuter boy who is infact the 'antagonist'. Mind, Oliver is by no means a 'good' hero. He is rude, haughty, his favorite past time is chewing his poor tailors a new hide and making the adults panic if they are going to be fired like the previous ones a week before. He is an upper class, 'Blue-blood' , rich privileged and spoilt .

                                             Our hero. Bravely crying as he rushes into battle.*cough, sarcasm*

 All he cares about is pleasing his father whom he fears and respects by being a good heir and adhering to every iron rule his father has laid out for him. Guy has NO dreams of his own whatsoever and only cares about pleasing his father and seen by the other Blue bloods as 'perfect' , by default thus sparing his sister and himself from said father's wrath. The sole redeeming features is his love for his younger sister and soft spot for children.

2. What is the plot?

                     "I just want a boring life where I can please everyone Blue-blooded!" says Oliver. Lol No, said Life.

To cut a long story short. At the age of ten, one dark night, Oliver is kidnapped by a fellow ten-year old Blue-blood Jack Dawkins , to be used as leverage to join the Freedom Fighters. The Freedom Fighters intend to use Oliver as a ransom to get Oliver's dad to cut back some policies like heavy taxes and other not-cool things for the peasants and frequent raids on their forces. The adventure starts when Oliver's life is spared despite his Dad not giving a hoot about his son's life. And he must learn to survive in the Freedom Fighter Corps until the day comes he can defeat the Head of the Army himself in combat and thus be freed.

3. Why should I read it?

  Ladies and Gentlemen. I give you your Leading character.

If you like unconventional main leads , humor, black comedy, romance (eventually!) , a bucket ton of angst and horror , oh and action and adventure, and if you have a soft spot for stories that are based off historical events. ((BUT I stress, my comic is SET in a fictional land with events that parallel actual historical events and cases!)) Then this is the comic for you. I hope you will support it! 0w0 I am seriously passionate about this comic as this is the first time I am digging so deep into my books , from colour theory, to history. My comic is intended to reflect my deep love for story and detail , in EVERYTHING!

...And yes, I will explain in detail or try my best to explain what events or what historical tidbit inspired my story!

Also, I cite my sources! 0w0 I believe sharing is caring and aim to promote interest in history . Although I reiterate. My comic is NOT Historically accurate! XD
